Empty Bowls is a fundraiser supporting our local Berea Food Bank. It is a collaboration of CELTS, student and local potters and even local restaurants. Empty Bowls will look a little different this year, but you can still support the Berea Food Bank by purchasing a simple meal and a bowl made by a Berea College ceramic volunteer, local children or a local professional potter. We will not be able to gather in person due to COVID-19 restrictions.
For $10, a delicious lunch of Berea College Farm Store soup and a slice of bread, in a locally-made ceramic bowl, will be available on four Fridays in April: the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and the 30th.
How to order
Quantities are limited to 50 Empty Bowls each week, so order early! The order form will open each Monday at noon for Friday curbside pickup. Place your order here. Your order and Friday pick-up time will be scheduled using this on-line system. Please pick up curbside at the Berea College Farm Store during your scheduled time, which will be between 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the Friday specified in your order. Farm Store students will select your bowl. We hope to offer choices next year.
All Empty Bowls proceeds will go to support the Berea Food Bank!
Special thanks to potters: Berea College Ceramics Students, the Berea College Craft Outreach Program, CELTS Berea Buddies and local professional potters Teresa Cole, Jonathan Dazo and Tater Knob Pottery!
