DECOLONIZATION IS DEAD.
October 4, 2023 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Afro-Indigenous descendant global scholar, mom and auntie, Dr. Clelia O. Rodriguez was born and raised in the ancestral lands of the Lenka in what is presently known as El Salvador. Dr. Rodriguez earned her MA and PhD from the University of Toronto and BA from York University. She is the Founder of SEEDS for Change, a Learning and Teaching space where Pedagogies of Liberation are grounded beyond stagnated notions of unchecked critical race, cultural and Gender-based theories, beyond binary notions of equity and colonization, and beyond respectability politics because #EveryChildMatters is not just a hashtag for people like Dr. Rodriguez. In addition to teaching Human Rights through an interdisciplinary spectrum (#NeurodivergenceInTheHouse) across territories, she has intentionally blessed many modern nations with her sweat, tears, and blood. She is the seed buried that turned into a wild, breathing and thriving ecosystem.
Lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 AM.
Thank you to our co-sponsors, the Berea College Forestry Outreach Center and the Berea College Education Studies Department.
