Art Talk with Robert R. Thurman

Join us for lunch and conversation with Thurman as he talks about his art and Appalachian identity.
Robert R. Thurman lives close to where he was born, raised, and attended school: in small, hard-working towns 45 to 60 miles southwest of Knoxville. His art shows in coastal national venues. Much of Thurman’s work has been painted outdoors on a plastic picnic table using whatever materials he had on hand including spray-paint and house paint, supplemented from natural plant dyes, shoe polish, permanent markers.
Free and open to the public. No RSVP necessary.
